To boost research on laws and regulations of CAFTA and ASEAN countries, promote academic exchange and legal resource sharing, and upgrade the practical legal cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, China Law Society founded China-ASEAN Legal Research Center in 2010. Located at Southwest University of Political Science and Law, the Center conducts research on legal issues concerning China and ASEAN countries; stages exchange of legal academia; provides consultation for governments, business groups and other institutions; intellectually supports the development of the whole region. The Center has an advisory committee membered by influential legal organizations, famous enterprises and privileged legal professionals of China and ASEAN countries. It has engaged over 100 legal experts and practitioners as visiting researchers and two thirds of its over 200 advisors and researchers are from the ten ASEAN countries. The Center has built a database of China and ASEAN-related legal documents as reference for legal research across the region. It also publishes China-ASEAN Legal Review and issues The Report on China-ASEAN Legal Cooperation and Development, analyzing CAFTA-related legal issues and practices and summarizing the latest legislative and judicial achievements of China and ASEAN countries.
